I was lucky to be born a naturally blond naturally curly headed girl. And yes, I do get highlights in my hair.. but only because during the winter my hair doesn't get as much sunlight so it gets a little bit darker. Once I hit the beach, or at least get more sunlight, highlights aren't needed.
Now, the question of the day is: What the heck is that white thing that is clearly eating my head?

Well, here's my answer for the guys: To keep my curls sparkly and pretty and bouncy and perfect.
Here's my answer for the ladies: A t-shirt! I'm officially plunking!
A few months ago my hair was heavenly, I swear. But I go through cycles. Sometimes my hair is just a bit on the blah side and kinda fluffy. I decided that I needed to do something about this, because this time around my hair has been a bit on the blah side and kinda fluffy for too long. After some research, I decided to tackle the CG method.
Here is my CG plan of action:
1. Begin with a clarifying shampoo to provide a nice clean base before I dive into the CG method.
2. ONLY condition my hair, never shampoo unless it's really needed and it's a sulfate free, paraben free, silicone free shampoo. The conditioner should also be sulfate free, paraben free, silicone free, and possibly protein free (protein free is really not for me).
3. When conditioning, massage my scalp so it cleans away the badness, much like a shampoo.
4. Brush my hair with a wide tooth comb during the conditioning process, don't brush my hair after it's rinsed.
5. Leave a tad bit of the conditioner in there.
6. Plunk!! (It realllllly brings out your curls and the fabric is significantly better for your hair than a bath towel)
7. Use hair products that don't have the bad crap mentioned above in them.
In two to six weeks, I will have movie star hair. You better believe it. And yes, you can have my autograph.
I stay away from sulfates, but my hair does really well with -cones. I feel like such a cheater with my expensive hippie shampoo and then whatever non-fancy dimethicone drugstore conditioner I happened to have found. :)

I'm doing the opposite.. I got an expensive hippie conditioner and I'm getting a non-fancy poo.. cause I'll only be using the shampoo when I expose my hair to salt water or chlorine.
ReplyDeleteI decided to go with proteins but no silicone. Cones are bad for hair that is prone to dryness/frizziness.. aka my hair at the moment lol.
I've been sulfate free for about 4 days now and I already see much more definition in my curls! My hair isn't as flat anymore..
