Healthy reasoning

And I deleted my Facebook. For a healthy reason, actually.

I was using it in a way that hurt me. My family wasn't being the way they used to be. So I wrote horrible things on there just to get their attention. I did this regularly.

A desperate cry for their love and attention. I'm so fucking desperate. I want my family back more than you would know.

It didn't work. They don't care about me, I know they don't.

So I deleted it. Because deleting it was the only way I could stop myself from begging for their attention and just getting more upset when they didn't reach out and help me.

I guess it's just me now. Me, myself, and I. I feel so abandoned.

Nicole again

I don't know. I haven't been myself. I was doing okay, you know, being away from my family. I was okay with them disconnecting themselves from me. But then I realized that all I have here in my town is myself, my two friends that put me in horrible situations, and alcohol.

My family doesn't love me anymore. And even if they do deep down, it doesn't matter if all they project is .. hatred or disinterest.

I reached out for them, I wanted someone to help me. All I got was .. nothing really.

So I went home and got completed wasted by myself. Lots of vodka and rum. Keith made an impromptu visit and found me so incredibly out of it, falling all over.

He invited me out but I stayed in. I've been doing that a lot lately. I've been hibernating. I don't want to go out and get drunk all of the time and have people take advantage of me. It was fun, but it's not fun anymore.

I was coaxed out last night. Around midnight. Keely had some ladies over so she invited me as well. It was.. lesbianish. We arm wrestled and talked about how hot Rosario Dawson is.

It somewhat put a smile on my face. But not so much. Nothing really puts a smile on my face anymore. I just want to get a fucking better job and start fresh. That's all.

I just want to enjoy life again. I want to be Nicole again.

Red cups

I don't even know where to begin. Right now I'm sitting at the old coffee house I worked at.  The one that closed down.  It's all boarded up. A sign fell off of one hinge and it's dangling in the wind, screeching.

This is going to sound stupid but sometimes this feels like my only home. It's my only security.  I've sat in this vacant parking lot many times thinking about life.

So last night there was a big party at my house.  I didn't want anything to do with it.  I've been sober for three days. It's made me very antisocial. I ditched five of my friends in these three days.  Haven't showered, slightly depressed. I'm a mess.

I wasn't gonna drink. I invited Keith and Keely over to help me guard the house. Guests were only allowed in the basement.

I kept getting drinks forced on me and I kept turning them down. At some point I got pissed, grabbed a 40, and downed it in 20 minutes.

Next thing you know, there are strangers on all three floors of my house, I'm dressed like a cowgirl, I'm being dance-humped by someone who just snorted cocaine in front of a crowd. Mind you, this guy was in jail for murder. Greeeeat.

My friends kept disappearing because they were fighting over some drunk bitch with my roommate. They all wanted to sleep with her.

I fell asleep on the front lawn for 45 minutes, got into three fights with three girls who were disrespecting my home, had to kick some bitches out of my bathroom cause someone slipped something in someone's drink and she was puking in MY toilet.

It was a mess.

Fast forward. It's 5am. All of a sudden my drunk friends need me when they were ignoring me all night. I locked them out. Told them to go fuck themselves and sleep in the hallway. Later on I let them in while I was sleeping.

I woke up fucking PISSED. I kicked them out.  Didn't say goodbye. Threw their shit at them. I found $13 on the front lawn between the stray red cups that somehow ended up out there. I bought breakfast by myself with the money, and now I'm in this parking lot of my closed home.

Nine missed calls. Numerous texts. Fuck all of them. I don't want to talk to anyone. I just want to be left alone. Leave me alone.

Recovery

In regards to alcohol, I know my limits and I know how to recover when I pass my limits. On weekends, recovery is easy. Weekdays are a bit tricky.

I usually pull myself out of bed in my normal routine at 7am and drag my pale, shaky, hungover body into work. I somehow make it through the 8 hours and then haul ass on the way home.

I plow through the door, eat like I'm in an eating competition, run up the stairs, and then collapse on my bed. I wake up sometime after midnight. Mind you, sometime before waking up at least one of my roomies (or a friend) busts into my room, annoys me, gets yelled at, and leaves.

Then, whenever I wake up, whether it is 1am or 3am, I get up and go out to either a gas station or a grocery store. Sometimes I call one of my drunk friends and I meet them at whatever bar they're at. Not to drink--just to converse.

So I needed to recover from Tuesday night. After my food binge and some blogging, I ran upstairs, plopped on my bed and passed out. Around 7pm a friend busted into my room, jumped on top of me, yelled "PLAY WITH ME," I screamed "GET OUT," and then they ran out. I fell right back to sleep. For once, I didn't get up again and go out.

I woke up at 7:30 this morning. I'm so refreshed. I got a cute text, "Why didn't you want to play with me last night?" I told them I was too busy recovering.

Deluxe Apartment in the Sky

My "What the fuck happened last night?!" stories are progressively getting more intense. I'm not doing this on purpose, I swear. I attract insanity, I suppose. Last night was spent with Keely, Keith, and way too much alcohol.

Fast forward.

It's 7 in the morning. I need to get up for work. My downstairs bathroom is overflowing with bubbles, there are empty cans and bottles everywhere, my wet underwear and bra are on the kitchen counter, the pool table is forever tainted, my hair is one gigantic knot, and me and Keely are naked on my bed.

I'm still completely wasted and I need to puke. So I do. And then I realize that I need to be at work at 8:30.

After multiple unsuccessful attempts at putting pants on (I was still too drunk to hold myself up), I collapsed next to Keely, called my supervisor, and drunkenly left a message about how I ate something bad yesterday and I'll be in late.

Fast forward.

I pull my ass into work four hours late, hungover. I'm dragging. Everyone is looking at me like I'm an alien. And then my boss says "Nicole, we need to speak to you in the office."

Fuck.

A million things start racing through my head. The first one, which I thought was the most likely, was that they were going to drug test me. I mean, I walk into the office on a regular basis with a druggie look. You know, bright red eyes, twitching. And not because I take drugs, but rather, because I often drink on weeknights or head to bed at 3 or 4 in the morning.

So I sit down. It's quiet. The office manager and my supervisor are staring me down. They start talking about food. Seriously?! Like, get to the fucking point. And then he says it.

I got promoted.

What the fuck?! He even broke into the Jefferson's theme song, Movin' On Up. Only me, I swear. This doesn't happen to normal humans.

Holy Fuck I'm So Easily Distracted

I'm sitting here nomming on my veggie burger and baby spinach salad while I think about life.

Keely and I are such close friends because we are very similar in one aspect: We're both flighty. Neither of us want to settle down. And it's perfect because we sort of have a mock relationship in which we get all of the benefits of a relationship (cuddling, someone to confide in, advice, security etc.) without being chained down. I have the exact same thing with Megan, only she's not flighty.

Oh, I want to divert for a second. Last night was cute. Keely came over at midnight with her puppy, we got coffee, and we went on a walk in the dark scary woods and pulled ourselves in at 3am. I hope my neighbor was awake at that time because it must've been the funniest sight ever.. I was wearing my koala hat and looking all silly and BAM I faceplanted right on the wet glass.

I laughed at myself so hard.

Where was I? Oh, right. So I went to visit my parents today. My parents went on a trip to Alaska and randomly got tattoos together. They wanted me to see the new tats so I drove up to the Valley. They also got me natural gold nugget earrings which are so cute and oh my god I diverted again.

Basically what I'm saying is this.. I went to see my uncle and I don't think I've ever looked up to someone as much as I look up to him. He's in his 50s, he's single, he's crazy, and he does whatever he wants. He is 100% his own person.

After showing me his rock collection ("This is from Bora Bora. This is from Peru. This is from Israel. This is from China. This is from down the street. And, oh! I think I have some weed in here.") and showing me his elusive cat ("Here, block the door, I'll lift the bed and grab her."), he gave me some amazing life advice, as if observing his existence wasn't good enough life advice to begin with.

"Nikki, stay single. And don't ever let anyone tell you what to do."

I've always (since I was a little girl) admired his independence and free spirit. I think his lifestyle is the kind of lifestyle that is perfect for me. And you know what, I think I'm well on my way to obtaining exactly what I want out of life.

This is the happiest I've ever been. It's very obvious to me that I wasn't born to be chained down. I know it goes against what most people want, but I honestly don't care. I'm going to do what makes me happy.

Spaghettios

I'm watching two dogs for the week. A six month old maltipoo and an eight month old chocolate lab. I'm required to stay at their house overnight. I'm very experienced with animals so other than muddy paw prints on my nice work outfits and slobbered up arms, all has been good in the hood.

At least on the dog front.

I forgot to mention that I'm not the only one in the house. Their 16 year old son opted out of the family vacation. So, you're probably wondering why he can't watch the dogs.

Let me put it this way... his mom had to leave a note for him explaining how to make Spaghettios. Yeah. Not the sharpest tool in the shed.

So I came home Tuesday night and every single light was on in the house, all of the air conditioners were on, both doors were unlocked, the dogs were left outside, they had no water, and the 16 year old boy and his vehicle were MIA.

Ahhh!

It is now Thursday. There are three full bowls of cereal in the sink, three half full glasses on the table, dirty boy clothes all over the bathroom, dirty water in the now clogged sink, two unflushed toilets, and a full recycling bin (his mom left him a note asking him to empty it).

Mind you, on the note in big letters it reads "KISS MY ASS MOM."

I'm debating on whether or not I should clean his messes or let his mother kill him.

Girl on the move

Within the next two years, I will be out on my own. It's inevitable. But there's a big issue. I have NO idea where I want to move. I look at apartments in all of the following four places and basically just confuse myself. Moving out is not something that will happen soon, but I like to be prepared. Out of these four, which would you pick? Either e-mail it to me, drop me a tweet, or (none of you ever do this) leave a comment. THANKS! :)

Abandoned building, cougars, and gays! OH MY!

Although I'm completely covered in bug bites, my holiday weekend was absolutely incredible. No complaints here.

Friday night was low key. Keith, Katelyn, Tom and I pre-gamed in Tom's basement. Then we went to New Hope for some more drinks out in the nice cool weather. We got back at 3am and relaxed on Tom's front porch with pizza, drinks, and Tom's hookah.

Saturday was a nice build-up for Sunday. I went to the Valley to spend time with my friends. Nick and I went to Amanda's party. We took lots of shots and laughed hysterically. Then I relaxed at my grandmother's house for a bit. After we gossiped and ate, I headed to Allentown with Alex and his boyfriend to get drinks at two gay bars. We danced our butts off!

I, in particular, danced with a hot blond cougar.

Anyway, I'd just like to say that I love dancing with gay boys. They're so intense. I get my hair flipped around, hands up my shirt, uncovered boy abs rubbed against me. I love it. Oh and the shot boy told me that I had to remove my shirt for a shot.

Gay boys are nuts. That's why I'm friends with so many.

Sunday started off with breakfast with Nick, Alex, and Andrew. We got strange looks from a little old lady who was shocked by our conversations. After that Nick and I went shopping at the mall and did something really random.

We broke into an abandoned building in the woods. In a thunderstorm. It was cool. There was paperwork there from before I was born. (You would've thought I'd have learned my lesson the last time I broke into an abandoned building and nearly got arrested. Apparently not.)

We got spooked because we saw a car rush to the entrance. We took off for the woods and hid. We were kind of trapped because there was a big cliff behind us. But we made it home fine. And soaking wet. We walked into his mom's house dripping and muddy and she laughed at us as she got us some towels.

She wouldn't expect anything less from us. I'm lucky she loves me.

After that nonsense we went to another party. Lots of food, beer, good conversation, alcohol infused watermelon, and laughter. Nick got so wasted. Melissa's family always sets off professional fireworks. It's always an amazing show. This year, however, one fell over and three exploded on the ground. It was nuts! The guys who were setting them off were running away for dear life. It was like watching a 3d zombie movie with the red flare light, smoke, explosion, and black outlines of bodies running towards us in a panic.

I thought for sure someone was going to be hurt. But all was good in the hood.

Back to Nick being drunk. On the way home I stopped at a gas station to fill up. Nick drunkenly disappeared into the gas station. His hair was sticking up all crazy and he obtained a popsicle while he was in there. It was so funny watching him wander around outside confusedly with his popsicle and crazy hair. Some man standing on the sidewalk was just laughing hysterically at him. Nick, confused and drunk, laughed back as he stumbled into my car with his popsicle.

Monday consisted of another shopping trip with Nicholas and more grandmother gossiping. Then I left the Valley and headed back to my house.

When I got back I gave Keith a pair of lime green sunglasses I bought for him in the Valley. (I got a pair of multi-colored ones). We put on our bright new sunglasses, hopped in the Wrangler, and went on a two hour cruise in the sunlight. After a much needed Starbucks detour, we relaxed on the couch together watching the Lil Wayne takeover on Fuse. Later that night we caught the Abington fireworks together.

It was such a perfect holiday weekend. Such a fantastic mix of fun and relaxation.
