It Feels Good

I informed one of the teachers down the hall that I got nearly all 4's on my evaluation (and a 4 is a perfect score). Her response was:

"Well the kids... talk... so I knew you were a good teacher."

And then she left.

What the hell are they talking about?! The way she said it, I wasn't sure if she meant that they were talking in a positive way, or if they were like "Man that bitch is tough, she gave me like 37 zeros."

Oh well, the good news is that regardless of what they're talking about, it resulted in her thinking I'm a good teacher.

My favorite thing on the planet is when I have a "good teaching" day. Now there are days where the kids are learning.. but not so much that I can measure it. I love days when I teach so well that I can feel it in the room. I can see it on their faces. And they have to work hard to get an answer, and yet about 10 hands raise when I ask for the answer.

Then I give them a test and nearly everyone gets a hundred. Seriously, I have about 90 students. About 80 of them got hundreds on the test today because they all soaked up the information like sponges.

You have no idea how good that feels.
